sounds like you have done everything correctly, and this should have worked, which leads me to believe this might be a bug. try saving and reloading, and if that doesn't work, you can wait until i patch this out or you can reset your game. Sorry, this is awful! It's a new error I haven't heard of yet so I'm going to have to do some investigating.
