It actually legitimately is worse to use. I have a small following, but I have never grown from anything after a small boost over the years. The "limited reach" horseshit is also just complete garbage. Trust me, I have REALLY been trying to promote my game in 2026, but to no avail. I literally have had more support on here and other smaller forums than I have on just Twitter alone.

If you didn't already have a sizeable following, you're pretty much fighting an uphill battle, unless you have a REALLY visually appealing game that gets people hooked to RT and Like.

Also shoutouts to all the useless ass curators who never actually play the games they promote and don't even bother retweeting you at all.

I deleted my account years back and eventually stopped paying attention to the stream of scandals and the legal action against Elon Musk (that’s barely covered in news media that frequently tries to cover up all his business failures and political messes).

From what I remember: Aren’t external links heavily restricted? Isn’t the majority of the platform potentially malicious bots? Aren’t all images used for training or manipulation by Grok, which is notorious for deepfakes and CSAM?

Why bear with all that? There doesn’t seem to be any value at all in Musk’s X when genuine engagement and interest in creative projects seems better on BlueSky and Mastodon (fediverse).

It's all that and MORE. Legitimately the site has become a cesspool for ragebait and fake hype and aura farming, as well as "pay2win" hierarchy caused by the blue check being able to be bought, thus giving you more vitality compared to regular users.

And I'll be honest, there's a lot of shitty ass behavior on that site by a bunch of ignorant assholes. You really don't want to promote your game amongst a buncha fake ass Larpers who only are ever on there to talk shit while they consume the latest gacha garbage and AAA Micro transactions dogshit releases. To hell with the majority of people on there. They won't help you out, especially those fuck ass curators who never retweet or even shout you out with their stupid hashtags.
