I love myself a big cathedral. Great great to sneak about with all that secret doorways and stairs. Tose need a bit of text, though. Are the stairs in 7 going up the sme as reaching room 8? Some rooms have stairs in the map, but no mentioning of them or their other end in the text. Wish this would be clearer :/
I like the story behind it and the escalation die!
I love this, the concept is great! (Aliens in medieval fantasy make me think of Jacques Vallée's Passport to Magonia) I love the art for cover and the queen, really vibrant and fun!
layout wise it is nice, clean, easy to read, with only issue being the white text in the main body of the cover being slightly hard to read, perhaps another translucent or opaque background for the body text, or a weightier font might have made it slightly easier to read.
The spin-down/degrading dice mechanic is always enjoyable and something I love to see and use, so it is a nice touch of dynamism to the module, the keys are well written and use formatting and font-styling to separate information clearly. There are few typos or inconsistencies (some missing spaces, Thraxxus and Thyraxxus, etc.) but nothing another pass of editing wouldn't resolve easily. The rooms themselves are all solid and coherent, the puzzles with the choir, the radiating chapel and the lady's chapel are great too and effectively call the players to pay attention.
The creatures and NPCs are really thematic and reinforce the themes established on the cover page, some of them are scary threats in the best way.
Great stuff!
Big fan of spin down dice, what a cool way to put on the pressure! Also, lots of nifty puzzles - my favorite being the mirror and sun mural room. Beautiful art!
Lots of flavor and fun ideas that create a very lived-in dungeon vibe. Great enemy concepts and lovely art of Her Majesty the Queen!
Super engaging ideas that coalesce nicely into a location that feels very active! Quite an evocative locale, especially with the 'ticking clock' mechanic. It was slightly difficult to read the text on the cover page, but that was a very minor thing in a great adventure, especially when recognizing the size constraints of the jam. I really enjoyed this one overall!
I think it's a really good adventure with a pretty original mix of themes. It looks pretty deadly—that angel is pretty scary. That said, I can't help but notice that the margins are different on every page. A really good adventure, good job.
Neat, very runnable alien incursion module with charming art!
A few favorite things:
- The mirror + mural and statue heads puzzles
- The factional division between the Clergy and the Clerics
- The As Time Passes... countdown that keeps the pressure on!
It looks like the Altar room's hidden door through the painting is a bottleneck before both the Moon Key and the Sun Key puzzles. Players would likely investigate the painting, but it could be frustrating if they overlook it and get stuck! But this is a very runnable and cohesive cathedral adventure! Thanks for sharing!
