I'm surprised Godot can do as nice of a 3D first-person platformer as that--as someone who only uses it for 2D games it's surprisingly capable.
really good atmosphere, love the fog rolling in the distance at the start.
Thanks! I forgot to credit the moving fog effect from godot shaders: https://godotshaders.com/shader/sandstorm-fog-shader-godot-4-x/ really helped with a desert feeling.
Really enjoyed the 3D platforming, smashing things and collecting things are always enjoyable activities in a game and are combined to great effect here. Getting the new powerups was cool, once I got the last one I had to get all the ore fragments even if they fell all the way back down that area lol.
The outdoor environment was a particular highlight for me - seeing the rings off in the fog was both serene yet eerie in a way, and I love in the end when there are ore chunks just spinning off into the air. I had one fly right at me and tried to vacuum it up, alas I missed XD
Thx, the smashing mechanic was a game mechanic I had wanted to recreate since so many games do destruction. The ending ore flying up was a quick add at the end of the jam. I originally wanted a UFO animation that sucked up the giant rings to end the game, but did not get to it.
The environment for this game really set a tone. The donut shaped rocks out in the distance along with the creeping fog and dreary red sky. I think you did a really awesome job!
I am not sure if you are aware, but Godot's audiostreamplayer have a built in randomizer setting in which after selecting you can choose the range of pitch frequency and different streams to play each time that sound effect is called. It might have been a good effect to use for the pick-up sound to add a little more variety.
Thank you! I had no idea the audioplayer had a randomizer, I'll definitely use that in the future!
Wow, the vistas in this cereal game were breathtaking! Also, I like how polished and well developed the mining mechanics were. Very fun!
Nice level design, and I like the upgrades you get to mine the ore faster.
Now I want some ore -I mean cereal...
Great cereal/ore physics with very satisfying spoon pings of destruction.
Thx, Two cereal games in one jam was funny to see!
Neat take on a cleaning sim & I really like your art!
Very satisfying to smash up all the ores and sucking them up!
I really like the conceit of it being a cereal tie-in game.
Yazmody asks for much and I only aim to please. I wish I was better at parkour.
