Hello!

The GIF below explains it all -- cards in the middle of being discarded get in the way of enemies, notably their damage numbers. Is there a way to change the coordinates of where it goes to in the middle of being used?

Yes! Cards that are in progress of resolving go to what is called the Temp Zone. You can change where that is located on the screen in the Core Engine Plugin Parameters (shown in the image below):
