How I built it / process notes
After I found out the theme of ROCK, having a rock pet really jumped out at me, then the idea of making a Tamagotchi sounded fun. I brainstormed with Chat GPT about pixel art prompts and ideas, creating design docs etc. then i moved to Claude Code to build using my ideas and guidance

This is lovely. I love the coherent art style, and I would've killed for these features in an actual tamagotchi. I love that it has little story collections, and more developed interactions. Menus are a little hard to get the hang of, but I probably count that more towards an immersive authentic experience of these complex machines with limited buttons.
It's great that it still seems to persist after leaving then coming back. At the moment I cant do anything with the app because my damn rock is asleep. + points for immersion, although I would like to shake him awake so I can play with the other features at the moment!

Pet rock as a Tamagotchi is a fun way to take the theme — I smiled when I saw it. The pixel art looks good too.
If I'm honest, I kept wanting the rock to feel a bit more like a rock, since that's the part that makes it different from other pet games. But it was nice to take care of it.

I think I might add some more games that you can play with the rock like THROW the rock and it can splash in water *KERPLUNK* and I plan to add some more interaction with the actual device late game. Maybe a game of Rock paper Scissor where the rock always plays ROCK
