Hello, I have no experience writing code, and I first tried Godot five days ago.
I worked through the official Godot tutorials and gained a vague understanding of concepts like code, nodes, and signals.
(Even so, I still can’t write code on my own.)
That’s when I learned about URST and decided to purchase it.
So far, it’s been a lot of fun—it’s easy and understandable, and I’ve been able to edit weapons and enemy characters smoothly.
(I also like that the sample level is a fully playable classic FPS game.)
In the past, I’ve done some simple modding for DOOM and Half-Life (map creation and reskins).
I dabbled in Unity once and tried my hand at a few FPS templates, but I eventually gave up because it required coding and complex AI assets for enemy characters.
The only time I managed to create something that could be called a game was when I tried Easy FPS Editor.
I have high hopes that URST will offer an experience similar to that—and even better.
I’m rooting for URST’s continued development.
My requests at this point are as follows:
- When you shoot a single enemy from a group that hasn’t noticed you yet,
the surrounding enemies also go on high alert.
(I loved that moment of tension in DOOM.)
