I love this game and really wish you had some awesome sfx and music to pair with the vibe! The gameplay was fun and fluent and I liked the different shells, apart from the grappling hook one which killed me. The style was overall super cool, including the little zoom out/transition in the shape of the turtle. My only issue was that the game just randomly crashed somehow at lvl3 I believe, where you had to go up from the right side. No idea what triggered that, maybe that I died. Either way, good job! :)

Okay, a little update, the music and sfx are working now! I think I had stardew valley open in the background yesterday and that might have caused an issue. I loove both and now I could proceed a lot further without the crash as well! The gameplay is super fun and challenging at times, but in a good way! Good job!! <3
Nice game, and similar gameplay to mine. I think the shooting was done well, and the way the bullets eject from the gun was a nice addition. I was able to pick up the bullets, but I could not shoot again. For this reason, I could only progress as far as I could run. There are no controls listed anywhere that I can see, so I'm not sure if there is a reload button I'm missing. The sprite for the bullets was done really well. Nice work!
Oop, sorry for not adding controls! I'll add some to the description, especially since there isn't a tutorial in-game.
To reload, you need to pick up the shells and also get gunpowder from enemies, and then you can press R to reload. You can also go to a crafting table to create bullets from shells and other items besides gunpowder.
Thanks for playing, and glad you enjoyed!

I do love some hotline miami type gameplay, overall solid experience, although if you don't recover your shells before leaving a level you lose them permanently which kinda sucks.
It was fun, but I feel like enemies are a bit too tough early in the game.

This one was loads of fun! I really liked the concept, and felt it was quite innovative. However, I would have liked it if there was a way to get more bullet casings, as if you go to a new zone without all of your shells, you lose them forever.
Amazing! it has a fresh and addicting feel to it. you have to be strategic because of limited ammo but also creative because of the ability to craft. I was shocked to see this completed in 3 days. Wow!
The game is super smooth to play and I honestly love the ammo management system! Being able to pick up casings and gunpowder to craft mid-mission is a really cool mechanic!
lots of good ideas in here with lots of potential, well-polished as well!
I also made a Hotline Miami inspired game so I wanted to give this a proper chance but I cannot pass level 3. The enemies have 0 telegraphs for their attack and they attack VERY suddenly so if you don't kill them immediately you're toast. This did make me have to think about my movements and take cover in rooms which felt fun but making level 3 that long just made it frustrating.
I like the crafting bullets idea I just wish we could craft whatever we wanted without a crafting bench because I was basically just stuck crafting the regular shells and couldn't really plan around using different shells without just camping a workbench. I enjoyed the mechanics overall though, nice work y'all.
Hey guys!
One of the devs here. I just dropped a quick patch to fix a few things, namely:
- Difficulty: the camera should pan towards nearby idling enemies, allowing you to react when they come from above or below
- Bug fixes: Item inventory should hopefully stay in the bottom right, and the zombie (green) bullet should be working.
Thanks y'all!
Fun: The juice in this game is great! I love the bullet casing sound effects and how they fly all over when you start shooting, and the screen shake is great as well. And spamming right click to pick up stuff was really fun too. There are some difficulty tweaks that could definitely improve the game, like being able to see ahead of you better for instance. But the decision to respawn you at the start of the level was a god send. I had fun!
Innovation: The concept for this one is really cool! Creating different bullets from different materials but the same 6 bullet casings was very inventive. Some of the bullet types (namely the grapple and broccoli(?)) didn't seem to have any real purpose, but I thought the sound(?) and fire bullets were cool!
Art: The art is very consistently good. I liked the Turtle screen transition!
Sound: The bullet casing and shooting sound effects were top notch and felt great. I also liked the music. I think the game could use a few more sound effects, like for each bullet type, to make them feel more unique, but overall the sound design is good.
Theme: I think you could have pushed the theme a bit further, maybe turning the the turtle shell into armor of some sort? Also the game technically revolves around bullet casings, not shells, but I think they're shell adjacent enough for it to fit the theme.
its pretty cool how you can craft while fighting but I cant get past the third level, because of how many enemies there are, the camera not letting me see them before they see me, and not having any ammo to start the level. Those might be a skill issue tho, overall fun game!
