I do agree with ikegotti that there is not enough instruction, though I understand it’s part of setting the tone as well.

My advice/request in this would be to add a minor pulse to the wait button at the very start, just something to draw the player’s eyes to it. Nothing flashy either, as that would definitely detract from the setting a bit. A gentle pulse that draws attention, I guess?

EDIT: Also, hide the pause button until after 10 seconds have passed (10 seconds of progression, such as having wait active or doing something else) because I kept clicking pause and wait repeatedly, waiting about half a second each time and it probably took about 30 seconds for me to get the first option. Dunno why I was so tenacious but afterwards I didn’t give the first minute or so another thought.

Highlighting the button matches what I've been considering, and I want something similar to highlight major area changes and maybe new actions appearing.

Also good point about hiding pause, it really doesn't need to be there from the beginning, I haven't considered how confusing it can be.

I'll get back to this in about a week and work on ui more.
