So sadly a lot of people have had this issue. The game wasn't designed for phones in mind and there are a lot of fixes needed. Right now assigning characters to rooms are broken, I am looking into making a hotfix that at least addresses that in the coming days, other things may still be broken after that but we wanna resolve that since it's game breaking and stops all progress. A thing you could try, I have a function in there where double clicking with a mouse in a room also brings up the panel for room assignment, give it a try but if that doesn't work then a hotfix is needed.
I just pushed a hotfix addressing this exact issue. It should be working now with assigning characters and click events on mobile. That's not to say other things might be broken on mobile, but that works. We will do extensive mobile optimization at a later date!
