i've always loved racing games, and this one's gimmick based on the jam theme is really interesting. even series like Burnout that are very much "about" crashing your car still have the act of crashing be something that you wanna avoid (unless you're playing a dedicated crash mode); but this game has you asking "when's the best time to crash my car on purpose?" while in the middle of a race.

the fact that it's a pretty solid racer even outside of that gimmick means that there's enough else going on outside of crashing to put pressure on the player to think on the spot. if you take a corner badly, or get bumped into by an opponent, then you might be able to wait a bit longer to crash than you otherwise would've; on a shorter track where you've been crashing in the same spot every lap to keep a steady exhaustion level, it can make you rethink your whole strategy. it's a really interesting mechanic, and of all the games i've played thus far, this is one i'd be most interested in seeing expanded into a longer game, maybe with more fleshed out driver AI and better course variety.
