The music is great and I love the art direction that you went for! For a first project you really blew this one out of the water, great stuff!
Good stuff! Left a rating for you. ⭐ It would mean a lot if you could check out my HTML5 project EXOSHELL SYNDICATE. It's fully playable right in the browser!
This was so fun to play! I loved the vibes of the levels and the simplistic controls but complicated patterns! I do wish the movement was a tad bit more snappy as I felt like I was hitting walls or missing coins by a tiny margin. Other than that, GREAT GAMEE!
i love the mechanic and hints embedded into the walls its really unique! difficulty-wise i loved it, i like when a game is challenging! but it did feel like some of the coins were too close to the walls (to react to) and i did expect the movement to be snap-like and not gradual. but still, really good game and the boss fight was a nice surprise! well done!
The music and art are both fire. I love the unique mechanic that is introduced. The only problem is the movement is a little punishing at times since it drifts to the spot and can lead to me hitting the ground even when I think I wouldn't. In addition, not being able to reverse my movements is a bit punishing and a little confusing because on the last level I got to I had all the collectables and I would have extra movements I didn't need / want and that would cause me to mess up.
The mechanics and movement are awesome!
It feels smooth to play and very intuitive in terms of controls and movement, I really enjoyed occasionally spamming space to loop through movement protocols, lol. Very fun, every time I got really far in a level I'd freak myself out and die, which built up a good tension--really fun! The visuals are fit together cleanly, and the lighting effects really elevate the look. I'm not the best at this genre of game, but I still found it incredibly easy to pick up and play, and, with a little bit of extra effort, I was able to get through it... I appreciate that it could get difficult, but wasn't harsh in difficulty... it feels well balanced overall.
You deserve more ratings, especially with how well-designed the controls and movements are! Thank you for putting the caret by the shell, it would be much harder if I was constantly glancing at the next couple moves. I did struggle to balance looking at the player versus the next move-set, but I'm not exactly sure what could help make it easier... anyway, the game plays so smoothly, really creative and fun entry!
Good work :)
One of the most unique games I've seen in the jam. I really love the mechanic of the movement, really makes you think fast. I also really enjoy the visuals and the sound a lot, everything is very cohesive and the game is a blast. Great job :-)
One of the best and most creative games of the GameJam, with an extremely simple yet creative mechanic that is very easy to pick up. I loved the music, though I felt the boss could have been a bit more difficult.
Other than that, I found everything done at a level of creativity way above average!
The way you aproacched the game mechanics, was truly something I didn't expect. Really nice job, you managed to activate the tryhard mode from old Fortnite 👍. Just one single thing (that might be intentional), it appears that the shell is affected by gravity and does some kind of curve
Music is great, love the design of it. Gives me the same feeling as playing geometry dash and a rhythm game. This is the type of game you have to plan out since being caught off guard lets the momentum take you and ram you into the spikes. Like the idea of your controls basically being changed each level. Really creative submission.
