The method has changed for this version. I don't know if you have to complete second part of the painting questline, but in it Lia mentions that the lamp next to the couch isn't working. If you have the screwdriver (from the MC's room) and click on the wall outlet you can disassemble it and get a magnet. Take this into the bathroom and find the vent next to the washing machine. There you can get the key.
