Hello everyone!

We're the team behind Malleus, a horror roguelite built around the classic High Striker carnival game. We've been working on the game for the past few months, and we're getting closer to launch.

We've released a demo and we'd love to hear your honest feedback.

We're particularly interested in hearing about:

  • ๐Ÿ”จ Gameplay — Is the High Striker mechanic fun and satisfying?
  • ๐Ÿƒ Cards & progression — Do the cards feel useful and interesting?
  • ๐ŸŽฏ Difficulty — Is the game too easy, too difficult, or just right?
  • ๐ŸŽจ UI/UX — Is everything clear and easy to understand?
  • ๐Ÿ‘ป Atmosphere — Does the carnival feel creepy and engaging?
  • ๐Ÿ› Bugs & performance — Did you encounter anything that needs fixing?
  • Don't worry about being critical! Honest feedback helps us make Malleus better, and we'd rather know what isn't working than assume everything is perfect.
Thank you for playing Malleus and helping us bring it closer to launch!

Just spent some time testing out the build! Pretty cool game. The visuals look stunning and it has a strong Inscryption vibe that I really dig.

Quick breakdown of my thoughts from my test pass:

๐Ÿ”จ Gameplay & Feel: Fun and satisfying! Hitting the timing loop feels good.

๐Ÿƒ Cards & Progression: The cards don't feel super useful right at first, but after getting two or three of them, they start to make sense.

๐ŸŽฏ Difficulty: Overall, the difficulty curve feels balanced.

๐ŸŽจ UI/UX & Visuals: Everything in the core HUD is super clear and readable.

๐Ÿ‘ป Atmosphere: The dark carnival aesthetic works amazingly well.

๐Ÿ› Bugs & Performance: I logged two main issues during my QA pass:

Settings Menu Crash: Changing any option in the Settings menu causes the game to crash upon returning to gameplay. (Note: I tested this on macOS via CrossOver/Wine, so this might be tied to how the engine resets graphics device contexts under translation layers!)

NPC Ticket Prop Mesh: When the NPC passes the ticket to the player, the item is successfully added to inventory, but the ticket prop mesh never leaves the NPC's hand.

I logged full environment specs, reproduction steps, and logs in a Notion report if youโ€™d ever like to take a look!

Also, if you ever decide to localize the game down the road, Iโ€™d love to help out with a Brazilian Portuguese translation!

    Really great work overall!!

Thank you for taking your time to test the game. You feedback is well received, we will try to tack the issues you had.

    Thank you so so much.
