A wonderful adventure! I loved the cut-ins for Konig's hand motions, the daytime stuff was really well done, like it was merry but you could tell there was something dark brewing further on, well foreshadowed. The way the story unfolds was really fun, and holy moly what did we do to Boyhowdy with that finger point lmao! As a GB Studio user myself I gotta say, all the thumbs up, awesome work!

I give this game... a thumbs up! I loved the art and all the original characters looked great!

Really like the color palette you used, and adding a usable PC & the hand gestures were fun additions!

Konig's hand gesture mechanic was very funny!

I really love the game boy style and the “hand” cut ins were so much fun! It made every interaction so interesting!

Loved the bar set up and the graveyard had great scale/depth!

Thank you! The tombstone originally read "KÖNIG" but I thought that reveal would be kind of cheap and too open-ended.

Dannng this game was a trip! I had a fun time playing it and I just loved your style of writing.

Thanks for playing and for the kind words!

Hell...o! That was a funny fake out!~ Great artwork, charming music, and funny writing!~

Thanks so much! It was really fun seeing that moment play out in the game jam livestream. The music is sourced directly from GB Studio's sound library, so I can't take full credit there. Audio was last on my to-do list before the deadline, but I'm happy with the tracks that ended up in the game.

Love how Konig’s legs are animated. The meals in the diary and a report card on the fridge are nice details.

Thank you! I went for a very simple spring-step walking animation, and even that took some figuring out. It still doesn't look exactly the way I'd hoped, but I'm glad you like it!

As someone who can't draw, these sprites are so impressive to me. The hand/finger stuff was sick and damn funny, well done!

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks! Drawing the sprites was the most fun part for me. I wanted to add more detailed background elements, but I'd often bump against the hardware limitations and cause some corruptive glitch in-game. The "thumbs up into finger gun" was the very first idea I sketched, so I'm glad it worked out! I like to draw but had no experience programming, so GB Studio was a great beginner-friendly option.

Very atmospheric. I sometimes had the game reset when I went back to previous screens, but I could still finish it fine :)

Developer

I think I fixed the issue in the latest build. Thanks for playing and sorry about that oversight.
