Play project
Green Plantern's itch.io pageArtistic Statement / Use of Theme
This project incorporates themes of the jam by focusing on the possible future impacts of climate change and global warming. While the setting of the game's world is post-apocalyptic, the player is able to farm and survive using their ingenuity and advanced technology. This shows that it's never too late to give up on our planet even when things look dire. The main artistic inspirations were games like dont starve and stardew valley; we wanted to combine the farming and survival elements of these games.
Development Summary
The final product is a much simpler version of our original idea, which had much more intense natural disasters and a stricter time limit. We had difficulty finding a balance with what we wanted to add and what we couldn't feasibly complete in time. Merge conflicts were a big pitfall, which caused us to lose some work. But overall, the core features we wanted in the game are completed, even if unpolished.
Our team is of 7 people:
Johnny (dusk8329) - Project Manager/Programmer
Jabacon (jabac0n) - Lead Programmer
Loden (shboom) - Lead Programmer
Chanse (dread97.) - Lead Game Designer
O'Suppus (osuppus) - Artist
Tlandolphi (tlandolphi05_82426) - Artist
Ellie (imposter9038) - Sound Designer
(optional) Further Development Plan
The game is finished but unpolished and not very tested. We would like to continue working on polishing the game, adding things like a settings menu and new plants, as well as expanding the current crafting system and rebalancing player progression.

I enjoyed the environmental mechanics and how they affected gameplay! I was never able to collect food or craft, even after planting the two front plots. I'd love to know what I did wrong. Thanks for making!
I had a really fun time with this game and I think you could take it in a lot of different directions. More dialogue and player feedback would be nice to really immerse players in the experience of what they are doing and why they are doing it. I overall really enjoyed the experience and think it is a very fun farming game with a unique mechanic.
I really enjoyed the game and I think it has a lot of potential! I have a few small suggestions that could make the experience even better:
Overall, I enjoyed the game, and I think these changes could add a nice extra level of polish. Great work! 🌱🎮
