No, there is no version for macOS at this time. Sticky

I've been getting multiple posts each day to the effect of "I bought the game without knowing there isn't a Mac version", so I'm pinning this topic for visibility. Nowhere on the store page does it say there's a Mac version. At the very top of the store page it says, "for Windows and Linux" (I didn't even write that, that's automated by Itch for the benefit of viewers).

So why is there no Mac version?

Because exporting for Mac is much, much more arduous than Windows or Linux. I'm just one guy--I'm not going to be able to get Choicer Voicer signed and notarized as an application. Any possible export would apparently require Mac users to circumvent protections on their operating system. It's not outside the realm of possibility, but this is why it hasn't been done. Of course, it'd be nice to have, both for me and for you.

If you want a refund, you need to contact Itch support. If you can't play it, I want you to get a refund, but I don't have a means to individually refund customers.

i will give the demo a try on crossover to see if that works for mac users who have crossover and/or other windows verisons for mac :)

(+2)

yeah, i cant get it to run on crossover :/ wish i could play it, it looks so fun! hope you can manage to get a mac release some day :)

(+3)

that sucks but one day

i didnt see anywhere it was unable to be played on mac im sad

(+7)(-3)

At the top of the page.

I buy thinking that I could play on the Mac, but not worked, so can I have a return?

(+8)(-8)

It's clearly stated at the top of the page by itch.io itself that the game is only available on Linux and Windows. I don't think that itch.io will accept your refund request because of your stupidity you can still try and get a refund at: /docs/legal/terms#refunds

so rude for no reason dude

(+6)(-7)

how is he being rude hes just stating his opinion and the truth

(+2)(-1)

obviously the way he is delivering the information is with a negative and condescending diction. there are ways to relay the information without being a POS

(+2)

Dude its $5 and your fault if you didn't read to see if it can run on MacOS which is usually unavailable for a lot of indie games

um so like can i get a refund, bro ik yall saying its on the top of the screen but cmon like there shoulkd be a big warning that is doesnt wok on mac before u buy it cuz i just wasted 5 bucks, i coudve gotten a snack with that money. or like idk maybe like a gatorade, im so upset and um i want a reufnd if i didnt mention already.

oh for reallllll

/docs/legal/terms#refunds

itch doesnt offer refunds for if you dont read the game description or the warnings

I have been looking for work arounds for this but I can't seem to have found any I ended up downloading wine and homebrew onto my computer but the thing is the mic ins't working. If you could somehow found out how to get your system to recognize that it's something playable and request mic access I could see that working but I don't know how to do that sorry. I payed 5 dollars before knowing but I'll have it so that when i get another laptop I can play it then!

So I need a refund

it works on crossover perfectly. anyone who wants their $5 back from an indie developer because they were too lazy to try the demo to see if it would work on their system shouldn't be allowed to use mommy's bank card

imo the linux version is alr 80% precompiled for mac since they both run n the same unix system and i was able to rebuild the linux app to a native macos app that is fully functional and tested with fullscreen and no crashe im js waiting for the dev to get in contact with me so we can get smth going on

That sounds cool! Better than using wine for sure. Hopefully they can implement it into their build process.

im js trying to get the dev to notice and dm me and as soon as he does hopefully he does implement it

how'd you do it

(1 edit)

This is running on crossover in a windows 10 bottle, I use it for a lot of games. Crossfire costs money but it's basically just a wrapper for "Wine" so you could try that instead but prob requires more configuring

I am using porting kit and using the WS12WineSikarugir10.0_3 engine  to run choicer voicer and ive gotten the mic to work twice but the on other occasions, the mic dosent work.

i will sign a disclosure stating im ok with downloading this app third party and the apple certs when i buy it if needed. ever since they got stricter for app certs many apps have had to go the third party route for mac.  still going to give it a play on my home PC and try to see if it works on my steam deck so I can have some portability to play with friends, etc.

Already bought before i saw this :/ any chance of a refund...

nope itch doesnt offer refunds if u dont read desclaimers

I just used wiskey

I paid and got my version of the game, and got it to run on on my m1 Mac, no wine, no crossover. I even created a .dmg so its just simple drag and drop. so yes I did purchase it, so if you do want to run it on Mac, and you have purchased it I could explain how to, or if you want to private message me feel free. and I can guide you, but it just requires terminal, godot app. but the .dmg contains the fully compiled app so its just a simple drag and drop.
