There are so many things I have wanted to get rid of for a long time. They stood sentinel to the worst periods of my life yet ill fit my current objectives. I am glad to remember that they are simply things and not Things, and would do better having served their purpose and then discarded than to be preserved as a chain binding my present self from moving beyond them. Of course this cycle will repeat many times in my life, as the brain seeks its pleasant things and creature comforts, but this will help me enjoy trimming the fat from my world so that life is a finer cut worth cooking.
