A fancy bird at the San Diego zoo. I leave for Hawaii tomorrow. Hopefully it wasn't destroyed by the hurricane!

Beautiful picture, and bird. Not a picture of Hawaii as I was insuating but will do for now.. As for the islands. They are pretty durable. Manya storm over the years. Typhoons typically in the pacific. Lived through a few of them myself when stationed on Okinawa (Extention of Japan but farther south).
Typhoons are typically bad news. So bad that the military moves all aircraft off island to like the Phillipines. Then from there to Okinawa when the storms go for the Phillipines.
In both cases, unflyable aircraft end up damaged severely on the bases hit by the storms.
As far as I know Hawaii only shut down flights in and out of the islands with most aircraft already having departed to been the "No Fly" orders.
Even with some weather damage the mountains and forests are still beautiful there. SO... PICTURES! Still Stands!
In any case. Have a safe and pleasurable trip!
