“2026” they’re gonna wait until the 31 of December, these people piss me off so much, I would honestly prefer for the game to be abandoned so I don’t have to keep fucking waiting
Hello there,
If waiting for a release date stresses you out this much, taking a step back from it might genuinely be good for your health.
The game doesn't have to be abandoned. Genuinely wishing a game gets canceled for everyone just because you personally lack patience is a wild level of entitlement.
Y'all have been stringing us along for months, changed the dates 3 times, then went to just 2026, it’s annoying. And fuck yeah I’m entitled, I’m a consumer, I’m consuming your products so yeah, I’m entitled to my opinion on your games. also I said prefer, never wished the actual cancelation of the game lol
Fair enough on having an opinion—and yes, the release date has shifted on multiple occasions, for which a public apology has been made every time. Feedback about Arvus games is always welcome, but your comments aren't actually about the game itself; they're about demanding a timeline on your terms.
Suggesting you'd "prefer cancellation" over waiting isn't constructive feedback—it's saying that if the timeline doesn't suit you personally, you would rather the game be abandoned and that no one else in the community gets to play it either.
You are investing patience; Kal is investing time, labor, and resources that could be going into Roundscape, but is choosing to put them into Starmaker so the community gets a polished final product. Updates are delayed to ensure quality, not to "string people along." You are more than welcome to wait for the final release, but the timeline remains Kal's to manage.
The game has been delayed multiple times. You can’t seriously tell me most people would just shrug it off when a release date gets pushed again and again, apologies or not. Y’all kept giving a date and then going “whoops, nvm” That happened like three times. Criticizing your communication is completely fair.
You’re still hung up on me saying I’d prefer the game was abandoned rather than keep waiting. I never said I want it cancelled for everyone. I said I’d personally rather it was dropped at this point than deal with another vague “2026” answer. That’s not the same thing.
also, you’re making it sound like starmaker is a charity game, it will be on steam and you guys still get subscriptions on other platforms no? Also the traffic that it generates makes people go check rounscape, it did it for me, and I got it on steam.
Anyway, I don’t wish any of you anything bad, or the game to actually be cancelled, I like the game, it’s pretty good, just a fan of the game showing his frustration I guess
Brother we're all excited to play the new update, and the fact that they changed the date 3 times now it's a bit frustrating, I get it, but you have to keep something in mind, as far as I know the game is being developed by just one person or a very small team, they also have a life, they also make mistakes, their whole life can't be around developing one game, that could fry one's mind and make them burn out and then it'll take even longer to release.
Personally I'd rather wait a bit longer to have the biggest update yet that it looks that will change the game completely than to have one more update with a few more scenes. Kal/the team is always making/adding new interesting things to the game, new minigames, scenes, characters, places, routes, etc. That takes a lot of time to code, illustrate, make sure the code doesn't get bugs, to polish, all that while still living a life.
It was a mistake to put a release date and then move it 3 times, no one's denying that, but these things happen, and I'm not saying you don't have the right to be frustrated, I'm just asking you to put yourself in their shoes, you want to do a nice update at a certain time but a few things happen, more ideas came, time run out before you realize, you want to give everyone a polished game and everyone is just repeating "update when?"
I'm honestly happy that Kal/the team is adding even more scenes and reworking a lot, seeing that the game will be completed/done at 2.0 and won't recieve any more official updates, I'll always be wanting more of the characters.
I think a constant update on the progress would help avoid these kind of situations. I get that people are impatient, i also get that the dev team is putting in work. But a weekly update to the community on where the progress is would go a long way, instead of announcements once in a blue moon. With that being said, in another thread you said that the progress is around 70% done, mind if i ask where it's at now?
man, get a job. you know, to keep your mind from waiting too much. i love this game and i hope the devs can deliver good quality game that could satisfy the player. i get it we are the consumer and could to some point demand for something. but remember, starmaker is always free, buying it on steam is a choice and you don't have to.
