I think that this is something that, with a bit of polishing, can turn into a really fun game. I had a problem with not knowing where to go after the first checkpoint, and i think that having the sound affect that plays when swinging the axe only be played when the player successfully hits a tree would help a lot with communication, plus some fiddling with the size and speed of the cactus pricks would make it feel more thorough. All in all, throughout development you should include more playtesting, but it has great potential, basics of gameplay, and gameloop.

Thank you very much; I'm seriously thinking about polishing it and turning it into a mobile game.

The music of the game is really very relaxing, so the sounds. The art's detailed and clean, overall a nice game! I felt the tree cutting could be a bit more satisfying, but it's totally fine like this, for the jam version. The game was pretty polished. Oh yeah, also the duck's sound, it felt pretty funny to me haha, where did you get that lol, just curious?

Thank you so much! I’m really glad you liked it! I put everything I’ve been learning over time into this game, trying to make it as enjoyable as possible.

I actually added more sounds and effects to the tree cutting to make chopping the trees feel more satisfying, but I don’t know why something went wrong and they didn’t make it into the final version. Some of the sounds simply didn’t play.

And the duck sound actually isn’t a duck hahahahaha, it’s a chicken sound that I had saved. I downloaded it a long time ago, but I honestly don’t remember where I got it from hahaha.

Thank you so much for the feedback! It’s really important to me because it helps me know that I’m improving!!

Really cool game! The cactus projectile mechanic was a nice challenge. However, after beating the first section, I got a bit lost on where to go next—there were cacti everywhere and I kept dying trying to figure out the path. Adding animals/creatures would also make the world feel more dynamic and fit the jam's theme even better. Overall, I loved the creativity and the game you built. Well done!

Developer

I definitely forgot to add an indicator to make it clearer that you had to carry a log between the cacti to get through and reach the third stage. There were some dodos and a pretty cool T-Rex over there, sad you didn't get to see it, but thanks so much for the feedback!

Cool game with nice art & music, but at first it was a bit laggy for me for some reason

Developer

Thank you so much! Really glad you liked the game. I also felt like the beginning was a bit slow, if it were a bigger game it would make sense, but for a jam I could have made the start faster.

Really amazing game! The assets look really nice and the gameplay was run.
The third room with a lot of the shooting cactus could be nerfed a bit though. The area was still fun but hard to see the cactus that is outside of the view

Also I think I went out of bounds here in the lava area? I flew to the right, then up, then right again and then I flew out of bounds. The floor was no longer lava and was a gray background

Overall, still a really nice game!

Developer

Thank you so much! Really appreciate the detailed feedback! You're right about the cactus room, the ones off-screen can definitely catch you off guard. I didn't know about that bug in the third room, I think the area leading to the fourth stage was too short and you flew right over it 🫠
