Thank you Hiromu, you're completely right. This doesn't have to be seen as the "end" of anything - just a change in my perspective.
And it's true that even after letting go of my grand ambitions, my odds off financial success still aren't zero. I'm just no longer going to focus on that, and will try to see every tiny win as a pleasant bonus, instead of a necessity. That should bring me a lot more happiness, while otherwise not affecting anything else haha
