Really good! I'm a big fan of this genre, and you managed to make it work super well within such a low resolution. Congrats on finishing the project!

Neat little game, high learning curve though! Took a while to figure out that you can only paint the second color biomass OVER the first color biomass, and you paint the second color by dragging off of the starter pool of paint. (Or by mouse wheel in the stuff menu.)

On Wave 21, I got into a state where I stopped being able to build new units. I had 40 blue currency, 6 yellow, zero units on the map — and it wouldn't let me build anything new. So, game over!

One general thought is that the shielded fellas didn't seem all that fair, maybe, without a way to move your units. (Ignore that if there is a way to reposition your units that I missed!) I basically had to just look at 'em angrily until my units happened to wiggle into a position to hit 'em.

Still, enjoyed my time with this game. Well done!

This feels like it has so much potential. I love the fluidity of playing. With a tutorial explaining a bit more, it would be an easy 10/10. Great job!

I really enjoy when games that tend to be more passive, like tower defense, have an active component. Something the player can engage with during some of the more automated parts of the game. So I was intrigued by a painting the battlefield mechanic. I unfortunately could not figure out how to get the green paint down, perhaps I was missing something or there was some hidden bug? I bought the necessary upgrade I think. Seems like there is a lot of interesting design space to further explore there!

I simply spammed units until I hit the unit limit or whatever there seems to be. I wasn't sure what the green tower exactly did. Reached the boss, it started to fade out, but I had no more moneys and it stomped all over my poor tower.

Had fun. Neat idea. Keep up the great work!

Thank you so much for playing and for your kind words! The "green paint" has to be drawn on top of the "blue paint"... Once you purchase the secondary color upgrade. it gives you some green patches to expand with the familiar click and drag motion, but you have to have plenty or primary/blue paint already down to be able to add your green paint! Our game has some mechanics that are hard to intuit on the first play through and this is something we'd love to continue to improve! Glad you enjoyed checking out our game, thanks again!

I think it was an interesting concept. Unfortunately I think the game also seems too complex and requires too much reading to learn the rules. Normally I would be a bit more patient, but since it’s very hard to read, especially with the resolution restriction and the specific font that you used, it’s too big a barrier to fully enjoy the game.

The graphics is done well. I also like the palette swap and the (kinda) interactive main menu. The audio is ok.

After playing it for a while, there’s a lot of elements in the game I haven’t understood yet, like the purpose of the paint (which seems like an integral part of the mechanics). I mean there seems to be not much than cover the ground as much as you can. I unlocked the second color but I don’t know how it works. Like I said, it’s probably explained in the game but it’s way too hard to read, so maybe if nothing else you could add a tutorial in the game page for players.
