Hey Holomind, really loving your asset so far! I have but one request regarding a specific N64 feature, namely a blur/AA effect.

As of right now, geometry edges are extremely jagged even when using the default N64 profile, which is fine for a PSX aesthetic, but feels somewhat out of place for an N64 aesthetic. The N64 used to have a hardware horizontal AA effect and a lot of games added software blur on top of it.

Therefore, I was wondering if such feature was in your current roadmap. I reckon even letting us enable MSAA or using a modern FXAA filter should be enough for the desired aesthetic.

Let me know if you have plans for anything like that!

Hey! Thank you so much for the feedback — I鈥檓 really glad you鈥檙e enjoying the asset! 馃槉

That鈥檚 an extremely valid point. The N64鈥檚 anti-aliasing and blur are a big part of what distinguishes its visual style from the sharper, more jagged PSX aesthetic.

I鈥檒l add an option for this in the next update, which I plan to upload by tomorrow at the latest. The update will also include support for Unity 6.5.

Thanks again for the suggestion!

That鈥檚 positively awesome! Thanks for the swift response, can鈥檛 wait to try it when it comes out then!

Hey! Thanks again for the suggestion! 馃槉

I鈥檝e just uploaded Gen5 Toolkit v3.0.3, which includes the changes you requested.

You can check the v3.0.3 changelog for the full details of what was added and changed. I hope the new implementation gives you the look you were aiming for!

I鈥檒l keep this issue open for now, so once you鈥檝e had a chance to try it, please let me know what you think. If you feel anything could be adjusted or improved, just let me know and I鈥檒l be happy to take another look at it.

Thanks for helping make Gen5 Toolkit better! 鉂わ笍

Hey again, that鈥檚 great news!

Just gave it a try right now with a couple of different scenes and assets, and the new FXAA + Blur filters are wonderful. Now the N64 aesthetic is pretty much flawless to me! I have a future Zelda-like project which will require accurate N64 graphics, and I believe your asset is a clear winner for it.

Thank you again for such a rapid implementation and for your support, they are greatly appreciated. As well as making this asset in the first place, of course!

Thank you so much for the kind words — and especially for the tip! I really appreciate it, that was incredibly kind of you!

I鈥檓 really happy to hear that the changes worked out and that you鈥檙e getting the N64 look you were aiming for. Feedback like yours genuinely helps me improve the toolkit, so thank you again for taking the time to suggest it and test the implementation! I鈥檇 absolutely love to see what you鈥檙e working on whenever you feel ready to share it!

If you run into anything else or have any other ideas or suggestions while working with the toolkit, please don鈥檛 hesitate to reach out. I鈥檒l be more than happy to take a look.

Thanks again for all the support, and good luck with the project!

You鈥檙e quite welcome!

Sure thing, when the project begins and I start using the toolkit more seriously I鈥檒l definitely reach out again if I have additional feedback.

Have a good one!
