This game has a very cute, very sweet premise. Though, I think you should definitely try to find an artist! The assets are varying sizes and resolutions (bunch of mixels) and it can be really distracting. I think you’ve got a really solid core game here, and it could be fleshed out just a bit more, I think it could be a strong contender. :)

The gameplay was also a bit linear - totally understandable for a jam, but I think this game could be very strong as a standalone if you were to flesh out the world a bit, give the player some agency to explore and find these. If you were to make the puzzles a bit more difficult and expand on this, I really think you have a solid foundation to pursue further.

This really reminds me of a series called “To the Moon” - highly recommend if you haven’t been inspired by this already!

I did get a cute little cutscene at the end with grandpa, so maybe it works, I will definitely check it out at the end!

Developer

Ouh happy you got the cinematic ! Maybe sometimes it works and sometimes no !

Thanks for your comments, I take notes, and I'll check To the Moon !

Such a touching story and experience! Would love to see what the final ending is like, the twist was very satisfying to see. Moving around the objects was a little janky but the puzzles were fun after we got the hang of it. Congratulations on such a great project!

Developer

Oh thank you so much ! The end is fixed, it's gonna be updated pretty soon !!

I'll add a way to go directly to the last house for those who already played.

Thanks for playing!

Really liked the game! The narrative was great and the puzzles were fun (i just wished they were a bit more complex)

This is so beautiful! Sweet themes and cute art/music to really pull the story together. I loved how near the end, you bring back the furniture back from each of the houses. I did get a bit teary at the end.

On the third house, it might be nice to have a quicker way to switch between the puzzle and the present day house. (Maybe a skill issue on my part haha but i had to go between the two scenes a lot because I couldn't remember the layout)

Ouh yes good comment ! I'll keep that in mind, maybe just add an input instead of going to the altar. Thanks for playing and for the nice comments !

Very beautiful game! A well executed little experience! I am not normally good at puzzle games, so the fact that I was able to beat it is a testament to it having decent balancing. (Although screw the third puzzle. How dare you. xD)

Story games are very tricky, and it's especially tough successfully executing the start, middle, and end of one, and I am happy to say you nailed it!

A few requests should you create others like it in the future. This is one of those games where grid-locked movement, especially for the puzzle portions, would have served it really well. Or at least a way to finely control your movement. And, of course, if puzzles didn't have to be fully reset, but had checkpoints, that would significantly reduce frustration. I am sure you have had all these same thoughts. Still, a very complete and well executed experience! Well done!

Love the visual! I wish the camera pulls back a bit more. Feels a little too claustrophobic (maybe that's the point lol)

Developer

Thanks for your comment ! I honestly didn't think about it at all, but good point !

Thanks for playing :D
