I tried to make a very minimalistic input system and keep it as simple as possible. I tried to make a simple Game Loop and very simple Level design

I really like the concept, but the controls felt very strange to me. I got through about 4 levels, and when they still didn't feel any more intuitive than the they did in the beginning, I threw in the towel. Still a very nice game!
Thanks for the feedback.
Any ideas how I could improve the feel?
What did I just play?! The controls are very creative. I like the feel of the game and it's quite responsive when you get used to it. Good game! If I may add a suggestion, the really short platforms are a bit tricky and I think you can substitute them with larger ones without compromising the level design. Or at least use them less. The game difficulty ramps up really fast. I really enjoyed it though!
Thanks for the feedback.
I'll fix that.
I guess I played it to much and therefore got to good at it or to familiar with the jumps that I didn't realize that they wouldn't be that easy for others.
One question, how far did you get before it got to hard so I know where I should rework the jumps?
I personally think that the first level should be very easy to clear. I would get rid of all the platforms in the first level and just have a gap that you can easily clear. The controls are very unique and it takes time to get used to them. And then ramp up the difficulty slowly. And then the last couple of stages can be more challenging when you know the player has all the basics down.
Okay thank you I'll try my best to rework that
I really love the theming and the concept of this game but I absolutely couldn't get past the jump section. Maybe skill issue but it feels like the jump recognition area requires the mouse to be too close to the player to combo jumping in a direction well.
First of all, thanks for the feedback.
What exactly do you mean by the mouse having to be close to the player? The mouse actually just needs to be positioned over the player to jump, regardless of the distance.
The mouse doesn't have to be directly inside the circle, the circle is just there to indicate the direction the mouse needs to move for the movement to be detected, the distance doesn't matter.
So, I found that I naturally wanted to have the mouse near the right side of the screen. When its at this distance, flicking up to jump seems to be less accurate and I have to move the mouse closer to the player to get better jumps.

Trying again I was able to get past the tutorial!
Ignore the arrow at the bottom.
Basically, there are three zones left, right, and jump (I’ve indicated them here with blue lines). If you’re between the lines, you move in that direction, but if you want to switch from running right to jumping, you can't just move the mouse straight up, because that doesn't get you into the jump zone, do you see what I mean?
That’s why it feels like you have to keep the cursor close to the player.
Ahh I see. Thanks for explaining
Your very welcome
As a quick tip: Start with your mouse positioned below the player and then make a semicircular motion in the direction you want to jump, this gives you enough momentum to clear most of the jumps in the game.
