uh, one question, how easy is it to make branching storylines in Ren’Py?

That depends on how much you want to happen as a result of a choice.

The documentation should provide the structure for writing out the choice paths, and I also suggest reading up on what are called "persistent flags" - things that can switch on or off at any point in the game and stay that way (there are also "default" variables - they tie to a save file but reset each time you start a new game instead of loading a save).

XD I finally downloaded Ren’Py and proceeded to waste the rest of my time on trying to draw a character, eventually I settled in a simple xkcd-style stickman, aaand then I was out of time. lol

I'm sure more chances to practice and play around with the software will come up!

I got another chance, scrapped the art, made new art, and somehow got a pretty good visual novel  a few pictures and words

Oooh, that's wonderful! If you publish it to Itch when you feel ready, I will give a play, rating and review!

I respect your wish to keep your game from being public till you're ready but I've been trying to type the password and it's not working...

Perhaps you can send me a "secret URL" to try at my discord (@e11ed0rad0)?

The password is the name of your latest game. (Hey, it rhymes!)

That is really sweet of you! Are there any capital letters or spaces or punctuation marks, because I am trying to type it correctly

Any luck?
