I tried the game again. I can grow. shop and get the quest fine. But unfortunately I can't progress since the bed stops working :/ I can here Interact sound but nothing happens. I restarted couple times but it is a repeating issue.
In regards of visibility - always try making your points of interests and interactables stand out, unless they are hidden by design. Easiest way to do that is usually lights or pathing. Otherwise any type of contrast can go a long way - color, shape, thickness, density of detail etc. For your gate specifically a little bit of cobble stone path and torches could make a big change :)
