there are a lot of words, but they are there for a reason: a well crafted text takes its space to convey a full citycrawl allure. You read this and know how to make the city living at the table. No meanor feature indeed
A highly interesting city crawl, based on people and their visions and not on locations. This is gonna be fun at the table. And packing a city generator into the pages is an impressive feat!
Max rate in the Playability scale! Not only easily useable in any game as a pocket city, it even has a citygen within 4 pages. Great work.
You created a solid scenario based mostly on the people, instead of the locations. I think that was a really good move to create the depth in the right places. Although most of the adventure consists of blocks of text, your visual ques and keys made it very clear anyway.
I chuckled at the city generation part. Honestly I think you could've provided a simple city in about the same space, but I love that you took the generator route. More adventures should have those :)
I think is the first time I've seen a city generator in the Appx.Jam, and I really enjoyed it! For a jam entry, it’s impressively packed with content but If you ever plan to expand on it, I’d love to see a more detailed guide on how to build out the town around the dice that fell on the paper. The concept has so much potential, and I'd love to see where you take it!
I love that you managed to cram in a city generation system!
I love the rumors you came up with, I wish we had more space on ours to have as fleshed out of a rumors section. I did initially have complaints about the lack of any kind of map, but after seeing the city generator you included, I'll preemptively revoke that complaint. The module is sweet!
So you chose to use a full page for a cover and put a whole campaign on the next three. I like how you put a lot of the worldbuildung fun in one sidebar. Really great zine! I’d say I would like it a tad more of the front page had a hint of a map for the lizards hideout.
Loved every part of it. The rumors table is nice and the rules for generating a random city is gold. You can easily create a whole campaign out of this, with an eerie mix of fantasy and body-snatchers sci-fi.
A fantastical They Live! Love it, and love how many adventures I've read are using Lizardfolk. Really appreciate the ambition of delivering as much content on as few pages as possible. Well done!
I like how you've built this. I can see lots of thought went into playability and what questions the DM might have. It'd be great to have a mechanism for recognising clones!
I enjoyed writing this so much I’m already planning an extended edition. I don’t know when it will come out, but I’ll definitely add more flesh to the clones.
That's great to hear. I think this has lots of potential to be a larger scenario :)
I think it would be cool to leave the physical details of the city open, but get crunchy about the details of how the reptiles operate (that way it could be plonked into any largish city)
I have far too much fun with dice drops to remove this one from the module. No, it will remain as the center of the module (in fact, I had to cut some options to stay within the page limit, so I’ll add them back in the expanded edition), the extra space will go in detailing the lizards and the city factions better.
Love how all this content is put on so little digital paper! It seems to be an andventure with many variables due to the rumors and city generation. I’ll try to set it up digitally to play with my group!
Thank you! Let me know how it works out, it’s the adventure format I enjoy the most as a DM but it might be just personal preference.
