Playing on web browser- game lagged like crazy with...

  • the light blue fish in depths that have lines of children
  • specifically the moving blobs of black and red crowstuff (when it was closing in on the center of the room, or when it was static, it was fine, but when it was a big circular blob moving around the room, that was a problem)
  • every time a "burst" of aura was created from killing an enemy (ie big pots in flock and enemy death in the mirage)
  • the moving star snakes in voyager, as well as the enemy projectiles in voyager
  • and the game always lagged for a second whenever I chose the stargazers, before seeing which constellation they gave me

I really like the game design mentality of "figuring it out through trial and error", and I think it's very well suited to the theme of dreams, I hope that you continue that as you develop- and i genuinely like that sometimes there are unexpected tradeoffs in that vein with certain memories. another really fun little bit of game design- the treasure chest crab enemy in the depths. it's so cool to be able to figure out that you can lead it fully off the screen for a few seconds so you can hug the edges of the screen in peace. hope to see more stuff like that, stuff where you can interact with the game in a strategic and somewhat surreal way.

things i hope to see as development continues- ability to reroll your options on a very limited basis (maybe as a reward for winning a run?), lore, little lore type connections between minigames (if you get enough funding maybe even a bonus minigame once youve done some lore nonsense??), and obviously more content overall.

I generally agree with average fox enthusiast with the caveat that I do think seeing different minigames at different dreamcatcher levels adds to replayability (i genuinely got jumpscared by shaky star looking mf in mirage the first time i saw it).  And, if you want to keep the unlimited memories mechanic, it might be fun to make memories weaker, or give most/all of them a negative, or have some kind of "overencumbered" type beat after a certain amount of memories taken. i also agree with the person who said that the amount of memory interaction with depths + voyager isnt there quite yet.

anyways- good stuff, loads of fun! please keep on keeping it weird, the art slaps :)

Hello! Thanks for playing and for the feedback :) I like the idea of a reroll but yes, it'd have to be pretty limited or cost sand. We actually do have lore for every single item in the dream journal that unlocks once you collect it enough times!

We'll take the rest of the feedback into account as we update!
