An entire month to wait after the last patreon release to put it on Itch?!?
Seriously?
I can understand putting the patreon people first.
Lots of game devs release them over the course of a month, with Itch being at the end of it..... but a whole freaking month?????
That's NOT treating the patrion people to a first of the line thing, that's just a punitive amount of time to everyone on here!In fact, that is enough time for me to forget your game exists!
I think you got trolled and did a knee jerk reaction in completely the wrong direction. :-(
Most devs don't try to punish the people on Itch with rediculously long timelines for release, but instead provide incentives that are only available on patreon.
One game I can use as an example provides bonus renders for those who are subscribed to patron; that's a pretty common tactic and it doesn't hurt those on itch who just want to see the story!
I'd like to remind you that I paid for this game too!
I want to support you, even though I'll never be doing it monthly.
I can't afford that.
Also In case you didn't know patron, is a company run by bad people who will ban anyone who's game they don't approve of!
They were doing this long before those aussie karens convinced the finance companies to go full control freak.
This is one of my top few favorite stories on here!
How about you try a different tactic, instead of this one?
The above suggestion and many other things are available to you, if you care to look them up.
Yes, all of these things you can do will take more time... even a vote for which characters story you will work on next takes a bit more time, but that is yet another thing you could do to make the patreon people feel special without f'ing over those of us on itch.
*sighs*
