Looking for a composer for medieval visual novel

Good afternoon.

I'm developing a visual novel.

Here's the synopsis: "1428. The Hundred Years' War between England and France. Dominican monk Hubert travels to the English camp near the besieged Orleans to investigate the murder of his older brother, Michael. Upon arrival, he learns that a "demon" has stalked the area, brutally murdering English soldiers. At first, Hubert doesn't believe it, believing the murders to be the work of the French, trying to intimidate the English. But soon he witnesses one of his companions being killed by a werewolf. Together with two inquisitors, Hubert must find the beast and solve the mystery of his brother's murder."

To put it simply, the game is a mix of the following (the trailers are below, you can watch them to get a feel for the atmosphere):

This is not a cheap horror VN with jump scares or big tits. No anime or hentai. At its core, it's a interactive book or philosophical canvas, showing the horrors of war for any of its participants: soldiers, knights, peasants, monks, whores, and completely random people. And mysticism will ultimately sum up all the horror that unfolds here.

Novel genre: medieval detective story with elements of horror and mysticism.

Tags: Middle Ages, grimdark, Game of Thrones, suspense, Inquisition, horror.

Currently, a demo prototype is ready (3 chapters out of 8). Please note that this is only a DEMO PROTOTYPE – I'm working solo in the evenings, trying to write and code simultaneously. It's really hard, but I plan to release the novel around September-October.

The interface, cutscenes, and intros are almost ready. Part of the soundtrack is ready, but I need the rest. Tentative genres: ambient, cinematic music, title music.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to pay you for your work, but I'll be happy to list you among those who worked on the game, and you will, of course, be free to use your tracks in your portfolio and for sale.

If you're interested in my proposal, please let me know. I'd be happy to collaborate with you.

Hello, I'd definitely like to see the prototype! I like the premise a lot.

You can check out my other games here on itch, Barrow is a medieval horror point and click. Here's a track from that game: https://soundcloud.com/theepicnate/the-barrow?si=301f45e718d54e48a7f246b950aec0a...

regarding epic title cinematic music, here is specifically example of that kind of orchestral https://soundcloud.com/theepicnate/nate-makes-fake-movie-music/s-mpwQbJCND0J?si=...

but in terms of historically accurate medieval music, I also am experienced in that https://www.instagram.com/p/DbDg5tWoCkN/

Good luck on the project either way! You can also shoot me a message on discord. (Also Nate Sassoon.)

Hi Canis Dei — I’m Kateryna, a composer for games and visual media. The medieval detective premise, philosophical war narrative, and restrained horror/mysticism point toward a rich ambient and cinematic palette. I’d be interested in discussing the remaining soundtrack on the unpaid credit-and-portfolio basis you described. Showreel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=diNhFgLL5ac LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/kateryna-voroniuk-5b526b176/

I tried to send you an email on voronyuk.kateryna@gmail.com but it said that "The message was not delivered because the address voronyuk.kateryna@gmail.com was not found or does not accept incoming emails."

Can you write me engruspa@gmail.com or via TG @penmynydd ???

Hello there, Canis Dei!

I'm a music composer and producer willing to help with your project. Here is my youtube channel. Lately i've been uploading some retro game music, but i can make medieval as well. I have some friends experts in medieval music and they can give me a hand also.

Innecesary data about me: I was teaching latin a few years in an academy, so i can help you out if you need to check the latin phrases of your medieval game.

You can contact me on Discord (dom_myshkin)

Hi Canis Dei! The combination of medieval investigation, wartime tragedy, restrained horror, and mysticism strongly interests me. I’d be especially interested in contributing dark ambient or cinematic music that builds suspense without overwhelming the novel’s dialogue and philosophical tone.

My portfolio:

If my work fits your direction, I’d like to see the prototype and hear the completed soundtrack so I can understand its established musical identity. I’d then be happy to begin with one short concept cue for a specific scene or chapter.
