Really cute character :3

I loved the laugh sound ^.^

Developer

Thank youuuu :3 Yeah the laughs are a bit goofy, but I'm glad they made it to the game lol

I love your pixel art!  I have to admit, though, I only really understood what was happening after reading the comments here. 😄 But the whole inner and outer demon idea is really cool!

Developer

Ahhhh next time we have to plan much more time for something like a tutorial part or dialogue :o That's good advice thank you :D

Glad you still liked the art and overall concept <3

The hit area felt a little rough but the main character is so cute! good job! :>

Developer

You mean it's hard to dodge the melee attack of the enemy? Or the hit/attack of the player? :) We would've loved to improve the combat, but we barely finished in timeeee T.T If you have more advice I would love to hear about it ^.^

Very cute visuals!
I am not sure that I understood the combat mechanics. I pressed with the mouse and I also dodged through the room and also tried pressingE and Q. E and Q seemed to do nothing and I seem to have hit the demon with the mouse, but I always dies before him ... Maybe I did something wrong?

Developer

I'm glad you like them :3

The mouse buttons are for fighting the outer demon/"body" (visible enemy) and the Q and E buttons are for fighting your inner demon/"mind". Like the hands that cover your view from time to time, or the "fake helathbar" that shows you wrong hp to falsely lull you into a wrong sense of security ^.^

Hope that helps a bit :D

Nice idea. I like the combat system and the different "inner demons" mechanics. Good job!

PS: Referring to your latest comment under my game: Yes, time is the end boss in a game jam, especially if it's only 48h! ;)

Heyyy thank you very much for playing <3

We didn't knew if we could made it before the deadline, but I'm happy the inner demon mechanics made it to the game in time xD

Eheeeeheeeheee XD

JK but I only got spawned one enemy and after I defeated him there seems to only be the hands? Not sure if there’s a bug or just incomplete.

Either way, good luck to you if you’re developing this further.

We wanted to give a hint to the players by making the laughs of the demon sound like the buttons you have to press xD

There is only one enemy to fight in this prottype yes :) If we had more time we would have added some story and dialogue to make it a bit clearer, but the hands are the hands of the demon which posesses the protagonist/player. The demon you are fighting with your sword is basically a random other demon you have to fight to free the posessed person. But yeah some sort of end or "victory screen" would've been a more rounded ending ^.^

Very nice pixel art! :D The color palette is nicely chosen and I liked the effects (shaking and animations). Well done :D

(I'm not sure if I got a bug, but I had no music. )

Developer

Awww thank you >.< I thought the effects were necessary, especially for the inverted controls, because without them it kinda felt like a bug lol xD For the music... Eddie made a very cool music track, but somehow the export was crushing again and again. So we missed the deadline T.T
