What would you like feedback on?
It's not finished but I could use input for how players did at all. I believe the items are too hard to find?
What did you update?
Movements and audio fixes.

It's so early you can go in literally any direction with this. I can say for sure that the graphics are gonna be good, but with this slice I can't even tell how big of a part the backpack is going to be since it wasn't required to pick up items or do something with them. Yes, items are just sitting on the ground and you can miss them, but again, how hard do you want players to look for them? I think you'll have to define what the core idea is first.
Good points, I do have answers but none of them are implemented yet. Glad you like the art. Thank you!
Visuals are great, and I think the companion could grow on you throughout the story. I’ve had my own thoughts around inventory as a mechanic; I quite like how Resident Evil does it with their Dr. Mario / Tetris esque mechanics. I like how here items can be more freely placed than a strict block shape. I’m not sure how many items there were to collect, I found three that seemed really clear to pick up, but if there were more than maybe the classic cartoon style of a painted background with the one item that’s animated in the scene being of a very different saturation or paint style might make it super clear? Overall I can see the beginnings of something great.
That's very encouraging, thank you. Yes, a longer game would provide some more interaction with the robot guide - it has a ton of lines already but nothing to say them to ;) I will also look into the inventory you mentioned. Animating the collectibles is also a good idea!
really interesting concept! shame the experience was so short, but i think i get the idea. Theres a lot of potential here, especially with half charming half apocalyptic atmosphere, and the narrative to back it up. the mechanic of managing the items in your backpack is quite unique, and id love to see it fully implemented some day. As for the items they are a bit hard to spot, and that isnt necessarily a bad thing. I dont think it should be intended for the player to pick up every single item along the way. Maybe having the necessary items pop in some way to make them harder to miss (Make the glow or something), but i dont think it should be that way for all items.
I'm happy you think so! I have been working on the idea of an inventory like this for a while but then was stumped by this and that during the SSJ jam. I agree that I need to do something about making the items easier to find. Maybe flash on mouseover? Simple code animations?
