I didn't play to the end, didn't know how long it would take lol. Maybe add a progress bar? Otherwise I enjoyed it much

Developer

Thanks for playing and the feedback, luckily the 2nd bar on the left side of the screen is a progress bar. The first bar is basically a health bar but the 2nd bar that fills up is a bar showing how close you are.

Oooooh... my bad!

Had fun, played till the very end screen with question mark ;) Does the arachnophobia toggle in options do something? :D Didn't click it, yet haven't seen any spiders in the game. I had a lot of fun, played longer than expected. so it has some addictive potential :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for Playing the Game, glad you enjoyed it, I’m happy we were able to make something that was fun enough to lose yourself in. The Arachnophobia mode is mostly a joke option which does remove one “spider” from the end screen

Very good game! At first, my first thought was "The percentage I'm getting close to Earth is very small, this game is going to be very difficult." But I focused on gradually acquiring all the possible upgrades (including the music, OBVIOUSLY), and after a good while of playing, reaching Earth was a pleasant stroll. When I was at 94% of earth, I was worried about my ship because I got hit by an asteroid barrage and it drained my charge considerably, but I arrived without any problems.
I think it's very well balanced and I like that even if it's very small, you can immediately notice in-game when you're getting improvements. Pixel art is simple but works perfectly visually. The music doesn't become overly repetitive despite the short loop and relatively long game for a jam game, and I really liked the feature of being able to purchase extra music. Good Job team!!

Edit:
I realized near the end of the game that I could also use W and S to move! I think the game would work perfectly well without using those two keys.

Developer

thanks a lot for super in depth and nice comment. I really appreciate you playing the game and giving some feedback.

glad to hear you enjoyed it as much as you did, it always makes me happy to know somebody enjoys something that I created. One of the most rewarding feelings out there.

I setup the controls such that either the arrow keys or WASD could be used to move around the screen to allow people some flexibility with the control scheme.

thanks again for playing, and have a great day :)

Very addicting gameplay - had to force myself to stop to play some other jam games! Skill tree music is great and now tune is stuck in my head, adding extra instruments on the skill menu was such a fun touch.

Developer

thanks for playing the game and the nice comments, that skill tree theme is super catchy, my friend did a great job with it.

Started out a bit to slow for my liking. Once I got the hang of it and the first upgrades started rolling in, it is quite addicting. Top of my head I would say a combination of A game about feeding a black hole and Raptor. Even tough the asteroids won't shoot back :)

Developer

Thanks for playing and the feedback, can't say I have heard of either of those games you mentioned but maybe ill have to check them out. :)

Pretty cool and well executed. I'd make an even simpler tree next time, just for the gameplay loop to be quicker.

Developer

thanks for the feedback, definitely agree, with how it’s designed could,be probably just been like a shop instead of a skilltree. Thanks for playing and commenting

I love the music for the skill tree. Did you write it?

Developer

I didn’t write it but the cocreator personguy666 did. It’s very catchy.

Fun little game, played it till the end! Interesting balance between the charge as ammo vs health! Bit of a shame that it starts so slow which is quite harsh on the player for an incremental game (although somewhat understandable with the end game balancing). I wish the asteroides would change color to indicate their health or the progression in the level, everything looks very samey! Would love to see a more polished rendition of it!
Also there's arachnophobia mode? But no spiders anywhere? That's quite strange!

Developer

Yeah we did feel that way a bit as we were trying it out, unfortunately we didn't end up leaving a ton of time left to fully polish that all up. 100% Agreed that along with changing asteroids, a moving background that is more interesting was definitely next up on the list for things I wish I could've added.

Also I can confirm that there is a Spider and Arachnophobia mode does remove it from the game, just in case.

Submitted

then I suppose the arachnophobia might have been toggled on by default, or I might have by accident? Was the spider like some kind of enemy to fight?

Developer(+1)

it is toggled off at the start, but there is a “spider” on the final screen of the game that disappears if you turn on the mode, tbh it’s really just a joke that we thought up and couldn’t get out of our heads

It too me an embarassingly long time to realize that stronger astroids gave you more currency.

I got 99% there and got hit by an astroid and rage quit. But that's just a skills issue. I enjoyed the gameplay loop!

Developer

Totally Understandable about the more currency, at one point in wanted to make the currency drop out of the asteroid and then you collect it so you'd be able tot more easily notice you got more but that didnt end up getting done. Thanks for playing and leaving a comment, I appreciate it a lot to see people enjoying the things that I create
