I really loved the writing in this game! I like how you focused on light pollution, which is often an overlooked issue. I honestly felt really moved by this game, and I can tell a lot of love and heart went into it. I definitely feel like this is the most impactful project I've seen so far. Great work!

Seeing Eye to Sky - Simple Owls's itch.io pageArtistic Statement / Use of Theme
Our project incorporates the theme of the jam by showing progress throughout the game through the mayor planting a literal Seed of Change, which symbolizes the town gradually realizing the importance of its environmental impact and how the community can only improve by caring for its climate. The mayor brings awareness to the town by visiting each location and helping residents little by little, increasing their favorability and encouraging them to care more about their individual impact. Artistically, we were inspired by Stardew Valley and other cozy farming games, using muted colors that gradually become brighter as the town changes, along with simple, relaxing music to reinforce the game's atmosphere.
Development Summary
We were able to implement most of the features we envisioned, including the day and night cycle, environmental progression, favorability, and money systems, but we wanted to improve how the town's transformation was visually communicated through the backgrounds. Based on feedback, we reworked the dialogue, adjusted several gameplay mechanics, and created additional background variations so players could more clearly see the town gradually changing over time. We also experimented with several music tracks before choosing the versions that best matched the game's progression and overall atmosphere.
