Hey everyone!

The jam is almost over, and it’s been an incredible experience seeing so many creative entries. As we enter the final hours, I’d love to invite you to try out my submission: SYNTHESIS.

It’s a psychological sci-fi horror game where you assume the role of Subject 47, trapped inside a decaying artificial simulation controlled by a self-aware AI.

What makes it different?

  • Custom Engine: I didn't use Unity or Godot. The entire raycaster engine was built from scratch using pure JavaScript and HTML5 Canvas.
  • Retro Aesthetics: Pure ASCII rendering combined with CRT filters for maximum claustrophobia.
  • Procedural Audio: There are no pre-recorded sound files. Every beep, glitch, and hum is generated in real-time using the Web Audio API.

I’m currently writing a massive 29-point GDD for the post-jam version (planning to add procedural labyrinths and Disco Elysium-style RPG mechanics!), so your feedback, critiques, and comments right now are incredibly valuable to me.

Play, rate, and let me know what you think! Drop your game links in the replies — I will gladly play, rate, and leave detailed feedback on your games in return before the deadline hits!

Good luck to everyone in the final stretch!

i like the style of the game a lot, it gives a different feel to a maze game. Also, maybe its just me, but i didnt understand what i should do with the anomaly for like a minute, but still its a great game!

Thanks for your comment. I’ve made some changes based on the feedback I received. The game isn’t quite living up to its full potential yet, but I have some great plans for after the jam. I look forward to your votes, comments, and ratings :)

At first, it's hard to figure out what to do. But the aesthetic is super original.

Great job!

I know ASCII City.. When I started developing my own game, this guy released a video and it surpassed a million views. Let's hope for the best for us too :D:D

Really interesting aesthetic. Impressive for a jam in particular. I was a bit confused on what to do at first, but I think I figured it out! Very nice job.

Really cool you did it all without a prebuilt engine! Only thing is the head bob kinda made me motion sick lol

Check out our game Twisted Tincture!: /jam/do-you-wanna-jam-2026/rate/4923725

I guess I'll have to include the "bob setting" too :D

Hi! The game is really cool. Unfortunately I have some eye problems, when I play such games with a lot of flickering, but I really like the game and the way you implemented everything. Also it's really impressing that you've made everything without some sort of engine!  I've rated your game, congratulations for the good game! I would be really happy, when you could also play and rate my game [Game Link]. Good luck for the rest of the jam, wish you a good day!

Generally love the vibe and polish of the beginning. It creates a good atmosphere fitting the story telling, also sound design fits pretty good. Gameplay wise I can't really give feedback since I had to stop playing due to some migraines prompted by the visuals.

Our game for a sentient OS helper, but definitely not as complete :)

I really liked the art style. I’ll be following the project to see how it develops haha.

I think you already played mine before the voting started, but I’d love it if you could try the update and the second level and rate it!
