I LOVE THE GRITTY REALISM, but its still fun enough to be engaging and interesting!! i think bb def resembled 808 for me in some of the sprites (was there inspo???/ either way i love it). love lane as a character but he reminds me of my old manager i had a fistfight with so sorry lane ill have to get over that before i do ur route
love love love the depth of the characters its clear there was a lot of thought put into it, beside just centering on romantic writing theyre sooo developed and interesting by themselves. they feel like real people with real problems and UGH its so good.
the longer conversations are actually engaging and feel natural, LOVED the break yap with BB. so much thought and feelings there. i think a lot of stories rush straight into certain scenes but i feel like this is so much more natural but still wellpaced enough to be engaging like u are my idol ur writing is insane
the art is also so yummy i gen cant compliment this game enough. i felt like i was 12 playing a visual novel for the first time like its THAT GOOD.
i also think the scenes where u walk around and interact with ur environment also help the pacing immensely. its so much more engaging when you actually work ur way into certain scenes and interact with your environment as opposed to skipping forward. once i was done with the garage scene i actually felt as if a considerable amount of time had passed
also the story is soooo good at building interest and mystique i cant remember the last time i was so invested into uncertainties like that
also fuck the subtle messaging is great i really recommend reading graffiti and listening to the npcs ik we arent that far into the story but there is SOMETHING being foreshadowed im SURE but i wont spoil !!!!!!
i esp loved the whole lack of colour thing, it felt like a good way of signalling depression or grief but im not entirely sure what its meant to represent
theres just so many things in this story to rave about so if u havent played play it immediately its so so so so so fucking good. i was past a 10hr nightshift and i went thru that shit with no breaks till i finished. thats how fuckinf good it is
