sometimes when your in a sign it does not read input
When you're "in" a sign? Do you mean while the dialogue box is up, or while your standing on it?
I'm going to guess you were trying to play the browser version on a mobile device. I did not have the game optimized for mobile. I updated it. Feel free to try again.
