nice game I liked the mechanics however it felt a bit rng based when I went up each time something different was happening not consistent like the platform coming down at different times not the same thing happening every run maybe I am just bad though music was cool stopped working after a while you probably forgot to set it to looping :D

Developer(+1)

Oh shoot! I knew I was forgetting something about the music ๐Ÿ™ƒ

And yeah, I did a lazy manual reset of the level, which only includes the player and the death barrier, hehe, so all the cycles are not the same after the first death.

Very cool ! I liked the gameplay a lot! I had a bug that the charge bar didnt appeared at the beggining and I got a bit frustrated that I could not know why I was exploding. Once it appeared everything went better. Maybe a bit too hard? But if is fearsible, it was fun :)

Next time put some colors on the menu!

Developer

Not a bug, but a feature, hehe.

I wanted to have some collectible and the visibility of the charge was the first I thought as a reward ๐Ÿ˜…

My goal was to make it kind of hard, I was inspired by kaizo ๐Ÿ˜›

Very cute graphics :) Glad I read the previous comment and knew I should get the heart to see my energy level at first, that made it a bit easier. Although it was pretty hard, each time something new (rising floor, spikey-things, platforms that you cannot "jump through"?) was introduced I must admit I died ๐Ÿ˜… Had fun though!

Developer

I have to say, I'm glad to hear it's hard, hehe, I wanted to go for something like kaizo, where dying a lot is expected yet you learn something new in each time.

Pretty similar mechanic to our game!

I thought it was really great level design! I think it is unintuitive that you have to get the hearts to see your energy and progress, but once I realized I had to collect them the gameplay was smooth. Having the time constraint of the floor rising makes the mechanic of waiting to charge up interesting. I also like how you made jumping consume extra energy.

Developer

Hehe, I wanted to add some "unlockables", so I decided to do it first with the energy meter.
Tho, definitely I should've put some banner or similar, because (in case you didn't notice) the second heart is the double jump, which is impossible to know what it does '^-^
