[PROGRAMMER] [ARTIST] [GAME DESIGNER] Looking for 2 collaborators for a 2D stealth game
About me
I'm an iOS developer working professionally as a programmer. I mainly work with Swift/iOS, but I also have some experience with C# and Unity, and I'm looking to use that experience to start developing an indie game.
I also enjoy coming up with game ideas and designing mechanics, so I'll be taking care of programming, game design and the general direction of the project.
I'm looking to form a small team of 3 people and develop the game together rather than simply hiring people to execute an existing idea.
The game
I'm currently developing the concept for a 2D stealth/infiltration game inspired by classics such as Metal Gear and games like Zero Sievert.
Two superpowers, Varen and Dravak, are on the brink of conflict.
Dravak has been secretly developing a program designed to create supersoldiers using experimental technology.
You play as an agent of Varen, sent behind enemy lines to infiltrate Dravak facilities, gather intelligence and uncover what is really happening.
The missions will combine:
- 🔍 Exploration and infiltration
- 👁️ Stealth and enemy detection
- 🔫 Combat when stealth fails
- 🎒 Equipment and resource management
- 🗺️ Multiple approaches to objectives
- 📡 Gathering intelligence
- 🚨 Alarms and enemy responses
- 📖 A story involving espionage, conspiracies and military secrets
The main inspiration is the feeling of being a vulnerable operative behind enemy lines, where information and preparation can be more important than simply shooting everything you see.
What I'm looking for
I'm looking for 2 people who would like to join as collaborators and help shape the project.
🎨 2D Artist
Someone interested in creating the game's visual identity.
Potential responsibilities:
- Characters
- Enemies
- Environments
- Animations
- UI elements
- Visual effects
The exact art style isn't completely defined yet, so I'd actually like the artist to have a significant role in shaping it.
🎮 Game Designer / Programmer
I'm also looking for someone interested in gameplay and systems.
Potential responsibilities:
- Gameplay mechanics
- Enemy AI
- Stealth systems
- Level design
- Mission design
- Gameplay programming
- Tools/systems in Unity
This role can overlap with mine(I will need it). I'd rather have someone who enjoys contributing ideas than someone who only wants to implement predefined tasks.
What I bring
I'm a professional programmer, mainly focused on iOS development.
For this project I can contribute:
- Unity / C#
- Gameplay programming
- Systems and architecture
- Game design
- Technical problem solving
- Project organization
- General game development
I'm also interested in learning and improving my Unity skills throughout the project.
Current state
The project is currently in the early concept/prototyping stage.
I'm deliberately starting small.
The first objective isn't to immediately build a huge game. Instead, I'd like to create a small playable prototype that proves whether the core gameplay is fun.
The initial prototype will focus on things such as:
- Player movement
- Enemy vision
- Stealth
- Detection
- Basic combat
- Simple level exploration
- Objectives
- Extraction
If the prototype works and we enjoy working together, we can progressively expand the project.
How I want to work
I want this to be a collaborative indie project.
I'm not looking for people to simply follow instructions. I'd like everyone involved to contribute ideas, mechanics and creative decisions.
I'd prefer to start with a small commitment and see how we work together before making long-term plans.
The goal is:
Prototype → Playtest → Iterate → Decide whether to expand the project
Commitment
This is currently a hobby/indie project, so I'm looking for people who are genuinely interested in making a game together.
I'm not expecting anyone to work full-time or make a huge commitment from day one.
I'd rather have a small team of people who consistently enjoy working on the project than a large team that disappears after a few weeks.
If the project eventually becomes something commercially viable, we can discuss revenue sharing and ownership agreements properly between the team members.
Who would be a good fit?
You don't need years of professional game development experience.
What matters most to me is:
- You enjoy making games
- You can work independently
- You're willing to communicate
- You enjoy contributing ideas
- You can commit some regular time to the project
- You understand that the project will evolve as we prototype
Experience with Unity is obviously useful, but motivation and reliability are more important than having a perfect CV.
Interested?
If this sounds interesting, feel free to reply here or send me a message.
It would be great if you could include:
- What role you're interested in
- Your experience
- Examples of previous work (if you have any)
- How much time you could realistically dedicate
- What kind of games you enjoy making
I'm happy to discuss the idea, show what I'm currently working on and see if we'd be a good fit as a team.
Let's make something small first and see where it takes us. 👀
🇪🇸 ¿Hablas español?
I'm from Spain, so if you're a Spanish-speaking developer from Spain or Latin America, you're especially welcome!
