(Submission 6/29 - "precision ost jam #1 submission" by sola)

Starting off with a 3:2 (or a 12/8 with duplets considering the drumbeat later) is pretty cool! The gritty instrumentation is awesome and I love the dropout at 1:00 to the electric piano! It's very comforting and nostalgic to listen to!

Here are some things I would recommend to improve upon! The track feels very centered and not very spread out amongst the stereo, making it seem flat. Another thing is that the bass you are using isn't emitting enough sub and it detracts from the poundiness of the first drop section with the gritty distorted drums, so I would either add a sub-bass or switch out your bass with one that emits those deep frequencies! At 1:24, I felt like the silence was a tad too long, but I see what you were trying to go for. At 1:35, I felt as if there wasn't enough buildup for the lead to suddenly pierce through the mix and scare me (aaaa)! The last thing I want to touch on is how cramped the ending feels with what seems to be seven different melodic ideas playing simultaneously. You can still get the intended result with layered synth patterns or simply adding a harmonic addition to the melody.

Despite the flaws with the piece, I think that your composition skills and your attention to melody creation is incredible! Keep it up, sola!
