People often talk about the dividedness of America as a problem in and of itself, and not a symptom of other problems. The man may see himself as being trapped in a cage with the coyote, but the coyote is also trapped in there with him - and who put them there? Who caused the situation in the first place, and who is really in control? It seems like an act of pointless cruelty - art posing as activism without actually helping anyone. Not to mention the loaded symbolism of using a wild animal as a stand-in for a race of humans. Performative really is the word for it.
Anyway, your gesture drawings do a great job of conveying the pose and movements of the coyote with few lines. Thanks for hosting this jam. I thought it was a really neat premise!
