Another idea could be a grain probe. Not sure how No Creek did it, but he has one in his Ray County map. Just an additional suggestion if you get things figured out.
I just got the tare/net/gross working. Needs some testing first
There is a scale mod out there with a working probe as well, maybe check Bronkema Toys.
