The visuals were simple yet perfect for this game play! The gameplay loop concept is great but right now feels like it is lacking in some sort of interesting friction for the player. Right now it's pure randomness on whether or not you'll see the stocks jump or not (even with reading the news). Maybe having different news sources to compare against to know what the stock will do the next day might help (So give 2 or 3 news outlets and each one has a varying degree of trust you can put into their info) Also it would have been cool if the stocks started off at a random value instead of 50,100,200 every time. I ended up just doing the 100 stock strat and skipped until I got lucky and it sold for enough. A game fully around a stock market is a interesting concept, and it feels like you could flesh this out a lot further! Solid base you have, and I think you could see big gains by adding some more intentional friction or mechanics for the player to engage with!

This may be my favourite entry. I really liked the simplicity. It was the perfect length for a game jam (a full release should be more money). The art style, palette and layout are superb. To answer your questions:
1. Yes, it was! I read the email first then checked the news.
2. It was, some were vague and you need the lingo (like moon means it's going up) but it makes it interesting so you find out what the terms mean when you try again.
3. I would add maybe a breaking news segment to add disruption. More stocks to manage, higher vet bill. But I understand for the game jam you had to make it simpler.
I loved it.

I really enjoyed the colour palette you chose. I see you've added some feedback questions on your game page, so I'll answer them here :)

1. I read the game page before playing, so I understood the premise before playing. Regardless, I think the game is self-explanatory if the player is curious enough to click around.
2. I really enjoyed the relation between the news headlines and the stock markets and I enjoyed making buying/selling decisions. Though, for me, some rounds seemed hard to play out because sometimes it delt like the headlines didn't directly correlate to how the market fluctuated.
3. I've been going back and forth between suggesting background music. The silence sits well with the situation, but I think BGM would help me settle in the game for longer. I would also consider showing a plus or minus beside each market value so the player knows if the value stayed the same, increased, or decreased like how IRL stocks do.

Overall, I really enjoyed playing and figuring out your game. Thanks for sharing!

Short but unique. Gambling always wins!

I realized I don't have a knack for the stock market. I lost a lot of money. It’s a very fun game with a cozy atmosphere (aside from the cat's health situation); it’s an excellent game with a great approach to integrating the unstable theme.

I found the investment mechanics very original. The storyline about the cat is captivating. Great job! The satisfaction of saving the cat after losing about five times is priceless XD

Creative use of the theme and the game is actually so addictive... Unfortunately I made a lot of cats miss the quota until I finally got it... :D

Managed to save my cat on day 8! I like the aesthetic, I like all the colors you chose even for the web page.

For your questions: It was pretty clear to me what to do, and how headlines affected what prices. One logical oddity to me that stood out was the idea of reading a headline about a stock movement that would happen the next day, it felt like I was reading tomorrow's headline and reaping all the benefits of that. Since I wasn't predicting anything just understanding headlines, it felt missing that element of prediction i'd normally associate with day trading.

Thank you so much for such a detailed review! I'm really glad you liked the design and managed to save the cat. Regarding the headlines — thanks for the feedback. I’ll definitely think about how to bring back the prediction element or rework this aspect a bit in the future!
