I dunno about this part. I think a different "crunchier" damage sound effect and a different or more intense flashing would be enough. We can do without Spark Mandrill Syndrome.

I guess my point is, according to comments I've seen, players still can't figure out weaknesses. A clear visual would be helpful to indicate you are using the right weapon, not that it needs to entirely freeze an enemy, but at least knock them back or break them out of their pattern for a second or two. Weaknesses should always give an advantage, in more ways than one, without necessarily cheesing the fight. That is the formula for all of Mega Man. Also, it's more advantageous for speed-running to use weaknesses, if they make the fight end more quickly.
