I wanted to take the time to comment on this because it deeply resonated with me as well.
I am a game dev, but I draw more than I make games to be honest. I drew around 30 personal comics 2 years ago. A year ago I became my mother's caregiver. The amount of comics I drew went down to 10. This year I have not drawn a single comic and have gone several months without drawing anything. It's only just recently that I have come to the conclusion that it is not because I don't like drawing art, or that I hate my art, it is because my soul has been devoured from the life I live, such that it is hard to feel anything anymore. The way you described it, as a never ending grief of not being able to make things because you're struggling to make your ends meet, but in order to keep your head above the water you have to spend the time on yourself. But you can't do that because you need to make your ends meet! So it feels like a never ending spiral.
Anyways, I wanted to thank you for putting into words the feelings (or lack of?) that have been holding me hostage for a year. I hope things get easier for you.
