not sure if i should really participate

right now I'm kind of worried for this because I joined like a week or two ago when I was kind of into game dev for a bit, made a really bad GB Studio game, got discouraged, and then forgot about this and became entirely uninterested again and now I'm not sure if I should still participate since I'm a lot more of an artistic person than a programmer, and I choose to be almost entirely inactive in terms of communication on social media so I cant really join teams or anything (why am I having this whole crisis like 10 days before this thing even starts)

Hey, deep breaths. I'm a loner myself, but you don't need to be active on platforms like teams. You can just text chat on discord for example. It's a great place to find people to work with too in the team finding thread. Here's an invite link if you're not already there: https://discord.gg/3PAcvqzfg
Most importantly, don't take game jams too seriously. There's no prizes in this one, you don't need to use GB Studio because we only care that it "feels" like a gameboy game, and there's lots of people looking for various roles. If you don't finish your game - don't worry about it. Just be proud you tried to do something.
Hope you decide to give it a go. It's a really rewarding experience, and jams really help me get out of a creative rut.
Remember though, it's just a jam. We're all here for fun, so take it easy and don't worry too much.

discord is mostly what I meant by social media because of all the privacy leaks its had and everything, and GB Studio is also kind of the only thing I know how to use other than some really simple python.
