Question about submitting Chapter 1 of a commercial episodic game

Hi everyone and thanks for organizing the jam!

I have a quick question about the rules regarding episodic games. I will be starting development this month on my psychological visual novel, Still a Sleeping. The full project is planned to be a commercial release split into 3 chapters.

My goal is to develop and submit Chapter 1 specifically for this jam as a free, complete prologue/demo experience. While I might be working on the structure for Chapters 2 and 3 alongside it, only Chapter 1 will be submitted for the jam.

Is this approach allowed within the current rules?

Thanks in advance for your time!

Generally it's acceptable as long as the entirety of what is in your submission was something you made within the running period.  If you bring in assets, code, writing, etc. from before the start of the jam, it would be disqualified.

Got it, just to be 100% clear: I haven't made any assets yet. I just have my tools ready to go (GIMP, Affinity, Cakewalk, Audacity, and Ren'Py) and the idea in my head.

Everything else—the script, art, music, and code—will be made totally from scratch during the jam timeframe.

Also, is there a specific place where I can post my progress and share how I'm developing the game?

Thank you very much for you time
