Hi, you can try my game Still a Sleeping. Unfortunately, I was only able to upload the first chapter, but I’ll be updating the second one soon. If you’d like to give it a chance, here it is. Still a Sleeping

Hello, I already have the first chapter of my game completed, and the script is also finished. I’d like to ask if I can participate by expanding it and creating a completely new chapter for my game, and then add it so I can showcase it. Thank you for your time

From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much! For a moment, I thought the game was going to be stuck in eternal limbo, hahaha. It makes me incredibly happy to read that I managed to convey that exact frustration of not being able to sleep due to overthinking.

You have a really good eye and hit the nail on the head with your ending. That loop you fell into symbolizes how the protagonist prefers to stay trapped in their intrusive thoughts; even though they cause harm, it's a chaos they already know. That's why all those words saying 'the loop is good' act as traps to send you back to the beginning.

But keep an eye out, there is a hidden way out. There is a different text that slowly fades away amidst all the noise. That represents how anxiety leaves us very little room to make the right decision in time. I challenge you to reload the game and act fast before that opportunity disappears!

I know very well that we, visual novel players, love analyzing the psychology and hidden details of these games. Because of that, absolutely everything here has a symbolism. Getting every click and every animation to convey that feeling took me almost 1,200 lines of code and immense technical effort. I've put countless hours of work and sleepless nights into this project to ensure the experience was exactly this immersive.

Knowing that all that effort was worth it and that you enjoyed it gives me so much motivation. Especially because Chapter 2 is already finished, and there we will finally get to know the protagonist's true motivations.

Thank you so much for playing and for taking the time to analyze it!

haha seeing your post i just realized i commented on your game a bit ago, turns out i'm having issues because of my audio too, hope they let you fix it

Hahaha, I had no idea you could turn on the comments! In fact, less than 40 minutes ago I didn't even know how to edit my page at all. I'll keep improving it as time goes on, learning all this stuff is amazing. By the way, if you checked out my game, thank you sooooo much!

By the way, I totally feel your pain with the last-minute struggles. Because I was rushing, the audio in some of my animations ended up blowing out eardrums lol

I’ll be straight up... I loved the art, it looks amazing

I really liked how you implemented it. The atmosphere is fantastic, what a great visual novel. Honestly, I’m in love with the ambiance. If I could make one suggestion, though: maybe adding a subtle background melody, something in the vein of Mac DeMarco, would be incredible (at least from my perspective). It would really enhance the way your visual novel feels.

Hey bro, I really loved the intro—the sounds were fascinating. But I couldn’t see the art anywhere in the game. I’m also making my project in Ren’Py, so it’s a bit worrying to think this might be an export error.

Got it, just to be 100% clear: I haven't made any assets yet. I just have my tools ready to go (GIMP, Affinity, Cakewalk, Audacity, and Ren'Py) and the idea in my head.

Everything else—the script, art, music, and code—will be made totally from scratch during the jam timeframe.

Also, is there a specific place where I can post my progress and share how I'm developing the game?

Thank you very much for you time

Hi everyone and thanks for organizing the jam!

I have a quick question about the rules regarding episodic games. I will be starting development this month on my psychological visual novel, Still a Sleeping. The full project is planned to be a commercial release split into 3 chapters.

My goal is to develop and submit Chapter 1 specifically for this jam as a free, complete prologue/demo experience. While I might be working on the structure for Chapters 2 and 3 alongside it, only Chapter 1 will be submitted for the jam.

Is this approach allowed within the current rules?

Thanks in advance for your time!
